Public Transportation in Taiwan

 Kaohsiung MRT

The MRT fare ranges from NT$20-NT$60 (based on the distance traveled). Multiple Day-Pass (1-Day, 2-Day, and 30-Day), stored-value card, and group ticket are also available. The MRT operates from 6 a.m. through 12 a.m. No food and drinking are allowed on the train and within the restricted area of the station.

Operation Lines:

Red Line: Gangshan South --- Siaogang

Orange Line: Sizihwan --- Daliao

 

 Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR)

There are eight HSR stations throughout the western Taiwan, including Taipei, Banqiao, Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Taichung, Chiayi, Tainan, and Zuoying (Kaohsiung). THSR provides regular service with a maximum speed of 300 kilometers per hour in the western corridor in Taiwan, offering travelers fast and convenient transportation service among cities.

 By MRT (40-minute ride): MRT R4 Kaohsiung International Airport Station àR21 Metropolitan Park Station à Take Bus Route 58A, 58B, or 97 (20-minute ride)

 By Taxi (40-minute ride): The taxi fare is about NTD 500.

From Taiwan High Speed Rail Zuoying Station (6 miles distance from the University)

 By MRT (15-minute ride): R16 Zuoying (THSR) Station à R21 Metropolitan Park Station à Take Bus Route 58A, 58B, or 97 (20-minute ride)

 By Taxi (15-minute ride): The taxi fare is about NTD 300.
